Privacy Policy
Derbes Wines does not, on its own, collect personal information on visitors to this website unless a visitor to the site voluntarily and knowingly submits personal information to us.   The servers on which the site operates collect and make available to us the "IP Address" of the computer which has accessed this site.   Our e-commerce pages require you to have “Cookies” enabled in your browser, solely to retain form information you enter for use in following pages.   Any cookies we place are expired at the end of the session.

Federal law and California state law require us to request identification from each consumer to prove that you are of age to legally purchase alcohol.   Therefore, we'll ask you for either your driver's license number, passport number, military ID, or social security number, as well as your date of birth.    We understand the sensitivity of the information you do provide. It is stored in a secure location on a password-protected server, and we will not share, rent, nor sell it to any third party, except to process your order, or as legally necessary.  

Credit card numbers are authorized via Secure Socket Layer.   We store Wine Club credit card numbers for regular billing, but we only store the last four digits of Wine Shop credit card numbers.  

You may choose to be included in our Newsletter mailing list.   If at any time you prefer not to be included in our mailings, please let us know and we will honor your request.

Returning or Exchanging an Item
If you are not satisfied with our wine or service, please contact us.   Within 15 days of receipt, you may return any unopened wine to us so that we may exchange it or give you a refund (except where prohibited by law).   We'll refund the credit card used for the original purchase the price you paid for the wine plus any taxes you were charged.   Shipping charges are non-refundable, however we will refund shipping charges if we have sent the wrong item or the item is defective.    If wine is replaced, we will pay the shipping costs for items sent in exchange.  In case of depletion of a particular vintage, your wine will be replaced with the next vintage or a wine of equal or greater value.   Note that wine must have been stored between 50°F and 60°F (10°C to 15°C), on its side or upside-down to keep the cork wet, away from light.    Repackage the unopened bottles in the container in which they were received.   You must insure the package for the amount you paid for it.  If you are being refunded, but are not a Derbes Wine Club member, we will need again the credit card number used for the original purchase, and expiration.

Sale and Shipment of Wine
You must be 21 years of age or over to order wine, and signature by an adult aged 21 or over is required for delivery.   We cannot ship to post office boxes.   Wine will not be delivered to a visibly intoxicated person.

All wines are sold in California and title passes to the buyer in California.   We make no representation to the legal rights of anyone to ship or import wines into any state outside California.   The buyer is solely responsible for shipment of alcoholic beverage products.

Due to state laws, we can only ship to certain states. Please contact us at (707)887-8601. Case limits apply, and we cannot ship to dry counties or Zip codes which only have post office boxes.

We may delay shipments due to extreme hot or cold weather, and we may recommend air shipment to certain areas in summer and winter.

A case is twelve 750 ml bottles.

Shipping is calculated based on the exact number of bottles
